Crowdfunding Campaign Raises $136-Thousand for Sonoma County Schools

The Sonoma County Office of Education has another 136-thousand-dollars-plus to spend on students, thanks to a crowdfunding campaign. The Schools Rule Sonoma County campaign, launched last November, raised money for literacy, STEAM and student well-being programs. The extra money will be used to supplement school districts’ budgets. Some of the purchases made with the donation money will include art supplies, English novels and transportation for field trips. Fifty-one of the county’s education foundations received grants. The money was divided among different schools and districts based on enrollment numbers.
