Columbus logistics company BBI Transportation to create 105 jobs in expansion project

Freight logistics company BBI Transportation has received state approval for tax incentives for an expansion project in Obetz where the company is promising to create 105 jobs.

BBI Transportation’s project was one of seven to be approved by the Ohio Tax Credit Authority on Monday.

The projects in total will create 458 jobs, retain 357 jobs and results in investments of $132 million statewide. Three projects are in central Ohio.

BBI Transportation provides logistics and trucking services for clients across the eastern U.S., with a focus on the Midwest and Southeast.

The company says its office and terminal in Obetz will become a regional headquarters to enable the company to serve clients.

In 2022, the company received incentives from the city of Columbus in 2022 to add 953 jobs and establish its corporate office in the Arena District.

BBI began operating in 2017 out of a small office at Easton Town Center. The company specializes in full truckload shipments while offering other services such as less than truckload, intermodal, specialized equipment and expediting shipments.
