FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Hundreds of Indiana National Guard soldiers are set to be deployed overseas soon. About 600 soldiers with the 38th Infantry Division will be sent to the Middle East in support of Operation Spartan Shield – a United States operation “to strengthen defense relationships and build partner capacity through leader engagements, multinational exercises and response planning” – after a month of training at Fort Cavasos in Texas.
