I-12 shooting suspect in custody in New Orleans

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office says its investigators have identified the suspect in a shooting on I-12 last month. The sheriff’s office says 35-year-old Bronze Williams is already being held in the Orleans Parish jail on unrelated charges.

Investigators say it was around 4 a.m. on August 30 when a St. Tammany man driving on I-12 between Pumpkin Center and the weight station reported being shot in his right arm.

“When the victim realized he had been shot, he reported looking in his rearview mirror to see a vehicle exiting at Pumpkin Center. The victim continued driving into Livingston Parish where he pulled into a gas station to contact authorities. The man was treated and released from an area hospital that same day,” said Ashley Rodrigue with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office.

A tip from the public led investigators to Williams, the sheriff’s office said.
