Person struck, killed by Metro bus in Hacienda Heights

A person was struck and killed Monday by a Metro bus in the unincorporated Hacienda Heights area.

Officers responded near the intersection of Azusa Avenue and Pepper Brook Way around 5:42 p.m. Monday regarding a collision involving an unresponsive pedestrian, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Details leading up to the crash remain unknown, and the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The person’s name was being withheld by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner pending notification of relatives.
