COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (WRIC) — Colonial Heights Animal Control is hosting an adoption event two Saturdays before Halloween.
According to the animal shelter, the event will feature pumpkin carving and painting, as well as a photo area for pets, snacks with vegan and gluten-free options and, of course, animals that are available for adoption.
The event will take place at the shelter, located at 301 Charles H. Dimmock Parkway in Colonial Heights, from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19.

The event is free but the shelter is asking for donations in the form of dog food, cat supplies, cleaning supplies and cash.
