Hispanic Association of Women celebrates 41 years of empowerment

LUBBOCK, Texas – In highlight of Hispanic Heritage month, the Hispanic Association of Women (HAW) organization is celebrating the success of being able to empower women for the last 41 years.

Every year the organization works extremely hard through various types of events to fundraise for their Annual Scholarship Gala. All funds raised by the organization go directly to scholarship awards.

The Hispanic Association of Women is proud to announce they will be hosting their annual scholarship award ceremony in October recognizing 76 scholarship recipients. This event will award women scholarships to support women financially in their higher education journey. Many scholarships are awarded to high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate students.

“We are a volunteer-based group, we have been able to raise $170,000 for this year’s scholarship awards,” said Elma Moreno, President of the Hispanic Association of Women.”

“We are proud to announce the recipients of the Liggett Law Group’s Hispanic Association of Women Scholarships, including the first-ever four-year sustainable Cordelia Dennis Liggett Memorial Scholarship.
