WILSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A state route in Wilson County is being called a major safety concern.
On Saturday, a witness shared the terrifying moments when a car swerved into the opposite lane which caused several cars to collide, then took off.
“It is dangerous, and people are not paying attention, and I think that’s really what it comes down to,” Heather Donnelly said.

Donnelly and her sister were driving on State Route 109, going northbound, when she said a gray SUV swerved into the opposite lane. “I got out of the way and saw debris flying in the air. I stopped pulled over, called 911, and checked to make sure everyone was ok.”
She said two cars were totaled and a third had minor damage. Two people were transported to the hospital.
Donnelly said the driver took off. “As far as I know, I figured they just kept going southbound on 109. I don’t know where they ended up, I just know they didn’t stop.”
