Off the Beaten Path: Whisky Business Bakery

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) – At Whisky Business Bakery, the emphasis is on the whisk not the liquor! If you’ve never had a French macaron, Bri Larsen wants to change that.

The owner and pastry chef of Whisky Business Bakery received a Culinary Arts degree from Schenectady County Community College. She continued her education at The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park.

Larsen has created more than 150 flavors of the meringue-based cookie sandwich, that is chewy yet crispy and gluten-free. According to Larsen, the most popular macaron flavor is crème brûlée. In the pastry case, you’ll find cupcakes, brownies, lemon bars and “the local blondie,” which features ingredients like Saratoga Potato Chips.

Whisky Business Bakery is located at 1671 Union Street in Schenectady. The bakery is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
