Eastbound vehicular lanes are closed at night and mornings on the Hawthorne Bridge this week.
The work began Monday, Sept. 23, and will continue through Friday, Sept. 27.
Eastbound lanes will close at 7 p.m. each night. The lanes and sidewalk will reopen at 11 a.m. each morning. Pedestrians will be directed to use the westbound sidewalk. Cyclists will be directed to a detour. Flaggers will be on the bridge directing traffic.
These closures are weather dependent. Commuters are encouraged to plan ahead for their commutes and to use alternative routes.
On Saturday, Sept. 28, all lanes on the Hawthorne Bridge are scheduled to reopen after 11 a.m. Eastbound lane closures continue with those same time frames on Sunday, Sept. 29, and Monday, Sept. 30.
