Cardinals executive confirms front office changes are in store for team

The St. Louis Cardinals are prepared for another October without postseason baseball. The team was eliminated from contention last Friday with a 5-1 loss to the Cleveland Guardians.

In order for the Cardinals to contend in 2025, major changes will need to be made, both with the roster and with the front office.

Earlier this week, President of Baseball Operations John Mozeliak confirmed that there will be a few shifts in the front office.

“It will be a very busy month of October as we look to reset out front office,” Mozeliak said.

This could mean a number of things. Perhaps some people within the front office could change roles, or some could even be relieved of their duties.

While Mozeliak is under contract through the 2025 season, there is no guarantee that he will finish out his contract in the same role. Perhaps St. Louis could move him to an advisory role and give Chaim Bloom Mozeliak’s role.

“At some point this offseason, we will definitely sit down with everybody and sort of lay out what that all could look like,” Mozeliak continued.
