Seven Minnesota schools named National Blue Ribbon Schools

Seven Minnesota schools were named 2024 National Blue Ribbon Schools this week by the U.S. Department of Education.

U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona announced the 2024 awardees Monday.

“For more than 40 years, our National Blue Ribbon Schools have shown us what it means to raise the bar for our nation’s students,” he said.

According to the Department of Education, National Blue Ribbon Schools are “led by leaders who articulate a clear vision of instructional excellence and uphold high standards.”

This year, 356 public and non-public schools were recognized nationwide across two categories: Exemplary High-Performing Schools and Exemplary Achievement Gap-Closing Schools, or both.

Exemplary High Performing Schools

  • North Oaks – Chippewa Middle School, Mounds View Public School District
  • Hills – Hills-Beaver Creek Secondary School, Hills-Beaver Creek School District
