City of Lubbock set to activate new traffic signal in South Lubbock

LUBBOCK, Texas — A new traffic signal will be activated at the intersection of 114th Street and Memphis Avenue on Wednesday, a press release from the City of Lubbock mentioned.

The signal will reduce delay and increase safety for car traffic turning on and off of Memphis Avenue. Additionally, the release said it will also provide a “safe pedestrian and bicycle crossing of 114th Street.”

Crews will remain on site after the signal is activated to complete any remaining work at the intersection. The city urged motorists to slow down and eliminate distraction in work zones for the safety of everyone on the road.
