Faraz Ghoddusi focus is on creating nonpartisan, equity-based solution on Tigard council

A first-generation American from a refugee family, Dr. Faraz Ghoddusi said he’s built his life around service, both in health care and in the local community. A family medicine physician who is on the faculty at Oregon Health & Science University, he’s also co-founder of Healthy Oregon, a local digital health nonprofit. He formerly served in the United States Air Force, working his way up to the rank of a major.

Ghoddusi, who has coached youth soccer and taught science, technology, engineering and math activities, is a member of the Rotary Clubs of Tigard and said he has supported various Tigard boards, events and the Tigard-Tualatin School District schools programs.

“I’m running for city council to help guide the decisions that will shape our community’s future, focusing on building connections, fostering positive change, and ensuring Tigard remains a vibrant place for all families,” he said.

Noting that the community welcomed his family with open arms, Ghoddusi said he wants to give back to what he calls “our forever home.”
