BOSTON – Check those old Powerball tickets: Massachusetts Lottery officials say two big winners sold in the state last year have gone unclaimed and are just days away from becoming worthless.

Two winning Powerball tickets still unclaimed in Massachusetts

One winning ticket worth $100,000 was bought at a Shell gas station on Plantation Street in Worcester for an Oct. 2, 2023 drawing. The winning numbers for that game were 12-26-27-43-47 with a Powerball of 5.

The other, worth $50,000, was purchased at Lincoln Liquors on Summer Street in Chelmsford for the Oct. 7, 2023 drawing. Those winning numbers were 47-54-57-60-65 with a Powerball of 19.

Both tickets were bought for drawings with a jackpot worth more than $1 billion. A lucky player in California eventually won the $1.765 billion jackpot on Oct. 11, 2023.

When do Powerball tickets expire?

Winning Powerball tickets expire one year after the drawing date. Any prizes that are not claimed go back for distribution to cities and towns in Massachusetts.
