MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – Thursday will be a First Alert Weather Day… the highest impacts will be in east Alabama! This will not be a one size fits all situation: a lot of our eastern counties will experience several hours of moderate to heavy rain along with gusty, potentially damaging wind. The farther west you live, the lower the threat of the previously mentioned impacts will be. Closer to the Mississippi/Alabama state line will be drier and less breezy, while those near the Georgia/Alabama state line will feel the more intense conditions, all thanks to the tropical system named Helene.
