OKLAHOMA CITY – Gov. Kevin Stitt is recovering following a procedure to repair a blockage in his heart.
“Gov. Stitt had significant blockage to a main artery,” said Abegail Cave, a spokesperson. “He underwent intravenous surgery on Friday where the doctors repaired the blockage with a stent.
“Governor Stitt is doing well and returned to the office.”
Stitt encourages all Oklahomans to ensure they are getting regular checkups, eating well and exercising, she said Tuesday.
“He wants to give a huge thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Oklahoma Heart Hospital South for the great care and expertise,” Cave said.
Stitt, a Republican, is serving his second term as governor. He and his wife Sarah have six children.
