Four South Carolina schools have been named 2024 National Blue Ribbon Schools, including Langston Charter Middle School in Greenville.
The schools are among 356 nationwide receiving the honor from the U.S. Department of Education.
Langston was named an exemplary high-performing school, meaning it has students achieving in the top 15% in English and mathematics as measured by state assessments.

“A lot of our success here at Langston is a testament to our school’s dedication, drive, and willingness to avoid the status quo,” said Principal David Wooten. “We have a method that works, and I look forward to having the opportunity to share our strategies and contribute to the betterment of education in our state and in our country.”
The three other South Carolina schools making the list include Buist Academy for Advance Studies, Charleston; Academic Magnet School, North Charleston; and Sand Hill Elementary School, Summerville.
