As Helene approaches the Jacksonville area, the City of Jacksonville has provided residents with the following information as the city works with the Emergency Operations Center to get prepared for the storm:
The Duval County Emergency Operations Center is partially activated as of this writing and will move to full activation as of 8 p.m. this evening.

EMERGENCY DECLARATIONS
- September 23, 2024: The State of Florida has issued an Executive Order declaring a State of Emergency for counties that may be impacted by the storm and expanded it to add Duval County on September 24.
