CHAPMANSBORO, Tenn. (WSMV) – The pilot, and sole person aboard the Aviat aircraft that crashed on Monday, was identified on Tuesday by the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office. The single-engine flyer had one occupant when it crashed into the Cumberland River Chapmansboro on Monday – the pilot and registered owner, Darrel Whittaker. Whittaker was found deceased in the aircraft by first responders.
