The long-time co-executive director of the Hawai’i Wildfire Management Organization was honored in New York City as one of the 2024 Grist 50. On Tuesday, Elizabeth Pickett, a Waimea resident, was recognized by the nonprofit, an independent media organization. According to a press release from the Department of Land and Natural Resources, Grist is the only newsroom focused on finding solutions at the intersection of climate and justice.
