STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Eleven vehicle thefts were reported on Staten Island during the week of Sept. 9 through 15, according to NYPD data. Despite the number, the amount of automobile thefts reported in the borough this year has decreased. Car thefts reported through Sept. 15 dropped 23% (254 vs. 329) when compared to the same period in 2023, according to the NYPD’s latest CompStat figures.
