Lubbock church hopes to pack 50K meals, in need of volunteers

LUBBOCK, Texas — Westminster Presbyterian Church will host a Rise Against Hunger event on Sunday, Sept. 29 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 3321 33rd Street.

The church’s goal was to pack 50,112 meals for those in need around the world. The church has 100 volunteers signed up but invited the community to provide extra hands to help pack meals.

The meals will consist of dry ingredients to send all over the world. Rise Against Hunger enlists organizations and people around the world as it acknowledges hunger will not end without creating a global movement.
