VIDEO: Nicotine-fueled wheelchair thief flees down Brooklyn street

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – The NYPD is searching for a thief who stole someone’s electric wheelchair and took off on it in Brooklyn.

Video released by the NYPD on Wednesday shows the suspect with a cigarette hanging out of her mouth as she operates the device on a Crown Heights sidewalk on Sept. 1.

According to police, the wheelchair was parked in the area of Sterling Place and Troy Avenue around 1:30 p.m. when the suspect removed it.

No injuries were reported during the theft.
