A St. Louis man has been put to death for a 1998 murder that advocates say he did not commit. Marcellus Williams was pronounced dead by injection at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday, shortly after the U.S. Supreme Court rejected several last-minute requests to halt the execution. The state Supreme Court allowed the execution to go forward on Monday, the same day that Gov. Mike Parson declined to grant clemency.
