The Providence Journal recently asked its readers to vote on their favorite Rhode Island apple picking spots in an online poll. After weeks of voting, readers have declared a winning orchard, with many others trailing right behind. Here are the top six reader choices for where to pick apples in Rhode Island this fall, complete with locations and apple picking hours.

Winner: Barden Family Orchard

Coming in first place with almost 31% of the votes is Barden Family Orchard in North Scituate. A family farm that still has some trees from 1931, Barden has a seasonal pick-your-own experience with over 20 types of apples.

The farm market at Barden Family Orchard offers a variety of seasonal goods like homemade cider jelly, freshly-pressed sweet apple cider, applesauce and pumpkins.
