Feed the Need collects more than 25K pounds of food

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The CAPK fundraiser Feed the Need collected more than 25,000 pounds of food at the Kern County Fair Tuesday.

CAPK officials said in a news release that the fundraiser had collected 25,638 pounds.

Community members were able to donate six canned or non-perishable food items for free admission.

CAPK was hoping to collect 40,000 pounds of food to beat 2023’s fundraiser when 30,000 pounds of food was collected.

With the 25,638 pounds of food collected, 21,412 meals can be donated to those in need.
