Very Heavy Rain & Thunderstorms Have Entered Western South & North Carolina
09/25/24 5:16pm ET
Good evening everyone. We continue to watch our “supercharged” front crawling to the east at a snail’s pace from western Georgia and eastern Alabama, into North Carolina and South Carolina.
Essentially, we have a long way to go on this, and heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected well-ahead of our tropical system, then the storm itself. In the meantime, strong to severe thunderstorms will continue to develop across the region; bringing with it the chance of some embedded severe weather.
Areas such as Tennesse, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, and South Carolina, will all see the risk of torrential rain, damaging winds, frequent lightning, hail, and the risk of brief tornadoes. We are expecting this action to continue through the night and into tomorrow, then intesify even more as our storm comes ashore.
