AUSTIN, Texas – Opening arguments began on Wednesday in the second trial of Austin police officer Christopher Taylor. This trial centers around the 2019 death of Mauris DeSilva. Officer Taylor was indicted on a murder charge, but last week, prosecutors decided to only pursue a lesser change of deadly conduct.
