SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) — Remains found Tuesday in a Spartanburg field have been identified as a man who went missing in early September.
According to the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office, the coroner’s office was called to a vacant field along Anderson Mill Road and Paddleford Road where the human remains were found.
Forensic latent prints taken on Wednesday helped investigators identify the man as Ross Dean Alford , 42, of York.
Alford had only lived at the Anderson Mill Road residence for a week, after moving to the area from Charleston.
Alford had been missing since September 12, the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s office said.
The coroner’s office added that no signs of foul play were found. Results of the forensic exam and toxicology are still pending at this time.
