Omaha Police Chief calls for termination of officer who killed man while serving warrant

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The Omaha Police Chief is recommending that the officer who shot and killed a man during a no-knock warrant last month be fired from his position. OPD Chief Todd Schmaderer on Wednesday released a statement saying Officer Adam Vail was in violation of the department’s protocol when issuing a warrant to 37-year-old Cameron Ford, who Vail shot dead inside an Omaha house in the early morning hours of Aug. 28.
