TOPEKA, Kan. (KCTV) – The Olathe Fire Department is among several from across Kansas that sent rescue teams to Florida to help locals trapped in Hurricane Helene to safety. The Kansas Adjutant General’s Department announced on Wednesday, Sept. 25, that the Kansas National Guard sent a water search and rescue team, Kansas Task Force 1, to Florida in response to Hurricane Helene.
