Cowgirls unload on Molalla

The Crook County Cowgirls made a statement at home Monday, Sept. 23 as they rolled past Molalla 25-9, 25-10, 25-11 in Tri-Valley Conference volleyball action.

“We wanted to focus on playing our game no matter what and keeping up the energy no matter who we play, how good they are or their skill level,” said senior setter Camryn Jeppsen. “So tonight brought up our confidence.”

The Cowgirls picked up the easy win despite playing their entire roster and using different rotations in each of the sets, something that Jeppsen says the team does regularly in practice.

“We’ve definitely gotten used to it,” Jeppsen said of the different lineups. “We do it in practice and we all can do our job very well no matter where we are.”

The win moves the Cowgirls to 1-1 in league action and 9-4 overall, while Molalla falls to 0-2 in league and 2-6 overall.

Crook County never trailed in the match, and rolled out to big leads to start each of the three sets. Molalla did manage to come back in the third set, tying the set at 5-5 before the Cowgirls pulled back away.
