Murder suspect, charged with killing Beloit woman, turns himself in

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Demond Curry, 29, of Machesney Park, has turned himself in to authorities after being charged with the murder of Justice Golden, 26, of Beloit.

According to authorities, on Wednesday, September 18, around 7:10 p.m., officers responded to the 1700 block of North Rockton Avenue for reports of shots fired in the area. Police arrived on the scene to see Golden suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Detectives have identified Curry as the suspect in her murder.

Curry is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, three counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.

A warrant was issued for his arrest.

Police said he turned himself in at the Winnebago County Jail on Tuesday, September 24th.
