Two minors led pursuit and were found with an illegal firearm, sheriff’s officials say

(FOX40.COM) — Two minors were arrested after allegedly leading deputies on a short pursuit and having an illegal firearm, the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday.

The agency said that around 10:35 a.m. a deputy attempted to stop a vehicle that had a flat tire and was driving on its rim near the northern boundary of the city of Stockton.

The driver did not stop and led the patrol vehicle on a brief pursuit before the deputy used “legal intervention” to bring the minors’ vehicle to a stop near West and Hammer Lanes.

An illegal firearm was in the passenger seat of the vehicle, which was stolen but had not been reported yet, the sheriff’s office said.
