Wink, one of Austin’s oldest fine dining restaurants, adds lunch service

A trailblazer in Austin’s farm-to-market dining scene has entered new territory. Chefs Mark Paul and Stewart Scruggs’ restaurant, Wink, has added lunch service.

The move brings a welcome addition to Austin’s afternoon dining scene, which is certainly not one of the city’s strong points, with few of the top restaurants in town offering lunch service.

The new lunch menu will look familiar to longtime fans of the restaurant, with dishes like cobia ceviche, beef tartare with Korean chili paste, hanger steak with braised Brussels sprouts and full-sized versions of the popular sliders from the adjacent Wink wine bar. There are also about a half dozen sandwiches and salads on the menu.

The wine bar, which landed on the Statesman’s recent list of the 40 Best Bars in Austin , will actually be the space hosting lunch service, which will run 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday-Friday.

Longtime Austin chefs Paul and Scruggs opened Wink, which proudly features a roster of local purveyors on its menu, in 2001. The restaurant was a 2022 inductee into the Austin360 Restaurant Hall of Fame .
