A student was arrested after a handgun was found at Park Center High School in Brooklyn Park on Wednesday.
Brooklyn Park Police Department says officers were called to the school to assist a staff member with a found gun just before 2 p.m.
Officers found the gun in a student’s backpack and were able to secure it. A school resource officer was on duty at the time of the incident and had quickly begun an investigation, according to BPPD.
A student was then identified as a person of interest and arrested.
BPPD says the incident doesn’t pose an ongoing threat to the school.
