CHATTAROY, Wash. — Firefighters with Spokane County Fire District 4 battled a brush fire near Chattaroy on Wednesday afternoon.
According to SCFD, the fire was approximately five acres and burning along E. Staley Road near E. Tallman Road, about seven miles east of Newport Highway.
Firefighters said one home was threatened by the flame, but saved when crews established a line around the property.
Forward progress on the fire was stopped around 1:45 p.m.
