Los Angeles Weather: Warming Trend Inland, Cooler Conditions Along the Southern California Coast

Los Angeles, CA – A warming trend is set to develop across inland Southern California through Friday, as high pressure from the east moves into the region. However, coastal areas will remain cooler, with a persistent marine layer and strong sea breezes keeping temperatures in check, according to the National Weather Service.

Inland valleys can expect slightly warmer temperatures, reaching the mid-80s to low-90s. Coastal areas, however, will experience cloudy mornings with slow clearing, as the marine layer struggles to dissipate. This pattern will likely persist through the weekend, with little change near the coast.

Next week, significant warming is forecast for inland areas as high pressure strengthens. Temperatures could rise 15-20 degrees above normal by Monday and Tuesday, with potential heat advisories in place. There’s also a small chance of thunderstorms early next week, as moisture from the remnants of Tropical Cyclone John may bring afternoon showers.
