Motorcyclist killed in crash at Sutro and East 6th streets Wednesday evening

A motorcyclist died after a Wednesday evening crash near downtown Reno.

About 6 p.m., emergency personnel responded to a report of a crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle at Sutro and East Sixth streets, Reno police said in a release late Wednesday. The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital but later died.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Speed or impairment don’t appear to be factors in the crash, police said.

It was the second fatal motorcycle crash in two days.

On Tuesday, a motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a vehicle at South Virginia Street and Arrowcreek Parkway near Tamarack Casino.

No further information was available.
