(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said a call for domestic violence assault involving a knife led to the arrest of two suspects in the morning hours of Wednesday, Sept. 25.
According to CSPD, on Wednesday at around 10:45 a.m. officers were called to the area of Colorado Avenue and South 25th Street about a domestic violence assault incident involving a knife.
Police arrived on the scene and developed probable cause to arrest one of the suspects, identified as 21-year-old Ethan McGowen, for alleged Assault in the Second Degree and Menacing, both felony charges.
As officers began their search for McGowen, who had left the area, they eventually found a man who matched McGowen’s description and was walking in the same direction as he was last seen traveling. When officers tried to detain the man, he ran from officers.
After a short struggle, during which an officer suffered a minor injury, the suspect, identified as 24-year-old Orion Luke, was taken into custody on several outstanding warrants, and according to CSPD, was related to the initial domestic violence investigation.
