Pedestrian killed in early morning crash on Hutchinson River Parkway

A female pedestrian from New York City was fatally struck by a southbound vehicle on the Hutchinson River Parkway early this morning. The accident occurred near the New Haven Line railroad overpass just after 1 a.m. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, according to Westchester County police. The victim’s identity has not been released, pending notification of next of kin. It is unknown at this time why the woman was walking on the parkway. The southbound lanes were closed for approximately 4.5 hours, reopening at 5:30 a.m. ”
