Student arrested in connection to online threats to Brookville Local Schools

BROOKVILLE, Ohio ( WDTN ) — Schools in the Miami Valley continue to see threats, including Brookville Local Schools which received an online threat on Wednesday.

Faculty members were informed of the online threat after school was dismissed and students left for the day. Police arrested a student in connection to the threat against school safety.

Officers quickly determined that the threat was not credible. They located a student near the school who they believe is responsible.

No weapons were found on the individual at the time they were arrested. Parents were then notified of the situation and that there were no further safety concerns.

“We sent out a ParentSquare to make them aware of what had transpired. And again, that it was resolved and there was no students in harm’s way,” said Superintendent of Brookville Local Schools Jason Wood.

According to the school’s code of conduct, based on the offense, that student will likely face out-of-school suspension and recommendation for expulsion.
