The 3-0 Minnesota Vikings are set to face off with their bitter rival, the Green Bay Packers, in Week 4. The Packers and Vikings have had memorable matchups between Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson and Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander in recent history.
Jefferson was asked about getting a chance to go against Alexander, as the Vikings receiver missed the first matchup against the Packers last season because of an injury. The star cornerback was suspended for the second.
Per a video posted on X by Jeff Wald of Fox 9, Jefferson said he didn’t care about playing Alexander last year, and his main focus is on executing the offensive scheme.
Jefferson then took a subtle shot at Alexander, saying the Packers cornerback cares about the rivalry more than he does.
“I honestly don’t really care about the matchup,” Jefferson said. “I feel like he cares a lot more than I do.”
The last time Alexander played against Jefferson, the former LSU standout was limited to one catch for 15 yards in a Packers 41-17 victory.
