( KRON ) — Firefighters worked to extinguish a fire that originated inside a single-family home Thursday morning, the San Francisco Fire Department said. The fire started inside the garage of a home at 3175 Cesar Chavez St.
The fire was sparked by a lithium-ion battery from an electric vehicle (EV) that was charging inside the garage, according to SFFD.
The fire has since been put under control, SFFD said. No injuries were reported, and no one was displaced due to the fire. However, crews had to shut down a street.
As of 1 p.m., Cesar Chavez is closed between Folsom Street and Harrison Street. SFFD posted a video of crews responding to the incident (above). The San Francisco Police Department was also at the scene responding.
