Linden has a new family-owned Spanish and Italian restaurant.
Linden Sports Bar & Restaurant opened it doors at 700 E. Elizabeth Ave., the former location of Tapas Bar & Grill, with a ribbon cutting ceremony earlier this month.
“With an exciting menu, the recently renovated establishment has large sports bar screens located throughout the restaurant to ensure customers are engaged in the events as a shared experience. The restaurant’s atmosphere, décor, and lighting create an inviting and memorable experience,” said Mayor Derek Armstead.
Among the menu items are pizza, Spanish-style steak, chicken Parmesan, burgers, Italian sausage and peppers sandwiches, tres leches cake, clams on the half-shell, and meatballs with peppers and onions.

The business is managed by brothers Luis, Enrique, Pedro and Jorge Jerez. The siblings came from Ecuador in 1992 with the hopes of living the American dream. They started working at a pizzeria in New York City and then relocated to East Brunswick in 1998. After working at an upscale Italian restaurant for nearly two years, the family decided to start a business in Linden.
