Many along the Gulf Coast are on high alert this Hurricane Season and another potential storm could be on its way to the gulf.
While Florida begins the recovery process after Hurricane Helene, all eyes will be back on the Gulf of Mexico in the days ahead as the National Hurricane Center is monitoring a wave near the Eastern Caribbean.
We are still in the peak of the season and anytime there is a potential storm or area of disturbed weather entering the gulf, you will want to be aware and keep up with the updates provided here and on this station’s mobile app.
As of Friday morning, the NHC is giving the wave being monitored a 30% chance of development in the next 7 days. This means the conditions in the gulf are favorable for a storm to form, but it is way too early even to predict a projected path.
Let me warn you, we will likely see projected paths and “cones of uncertainties” on social media in the days ahead, do not take them seriously as it is way too early for any projected paths to be forecasted.
