VSU visits Nansemond River High

On Friday, Sept. 20, Virginia State University College of Education students took a tour of Nansemond River High School as part of their 3-S Tours to Suffolk, Sussex, and Southampton. Members of our leadership team shared our school division’s mission, vision, and philosophy in hopes of motivating aspiring teachers to apply to Suffolk Public Schools after graduation. This visit is a part of SPS’s proactive approach to the current teacher shortage. SPS Superintendent Dr. John B. Gordon III talks with students in the media center.
