Man pleads guilty to shooting 2 police officers in Soulard

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – A 38-year-old man pleaded guilty to shooting two police officers, resisting arrest and drug trafficking in St. Louis’ Soulard neighborhood. St. Louis Metropolitan Police Officers Sean Miskovic, 25, and Lucas Roethlisberger, 39, were on patrol late in the evening of Feb. 2, 2023, when they saw a silver pick-up truck that matched the description of a vehicle wanted for robbery. When the officers tried to stop the truck, it sped off, leading to a chase that ended when the truck crashed into the Soulard Farmer’s Market. The driver of the truck, Cortez Darrell Sipes, then got out and started firing shots.
