Lawsuit Alleges Unconstitutional Searches by PA Conservation Officers

A new federal lawsuit claims that Pennsylvania law grants waterways conservation officers unconstitutional authority to search private properties without warrants. The case was filed on Monday by Tim Thomas, a resident of Susquehanna County, who alleges that Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission officers trespassed on his property multiple times in 2023 over alleged fishing violations, which were later dismissed in court.
